Okay so this time I decided to put week 6 & 7 together as it is a 14 day cruise. Over the past two weeks, there has a lot been going on.
I’ll start at the very beginning.
Monday 24th April; there was a princess gathering where I got to meet Ariel, Rapunzel, Tiana, Cinderella and Belle. It was lovely and I got some pictures. After that, a few of us grabbed a drink from the bar to relax.
Tuesday 25th April; The ship docked in Cozumel, Mexico. I had a few hours off in the middle of the day so I managed to get off, look around, take a few photos and grab something to eat before getting back on board.
Friday 28th April; The ship docked in Cartegna, Columbia. I didn’t start until late so a friend and I grabbed a taxi to Old Town, explored, taking photos before getting something to eat. The driving was scary! I had to keep closing my eyes as I thought we were going to crash. In the evening, there was an event for crew. YA ( Youth Activities) do programs for the children and they decided to put one on for us ‘Gases and Goo’ it was so funny and such a laugh.
Saturday 29th April; This was Panama Canal day which is the day that Disney Wonder being the first every cruise passenger ship to pass through the new locks. I got up early to watch it go through the first set of locks, during this they put pastries out for the crew to enjoy. At lunch time ish, I had a long break so watched it go through the last set of locks but I got soaked as it was raining, thundering, lightening. Then that evening there was a glow party. This was a big event for every crew member and I really let my hair down and enjoyed myself. Everyone was dancing and even glow sticks in the dark.
Wednesday 3rd May; this was a busy day for me – my room mate and I had to spring clean the room, this meant taking everything out of the room including mattresses. It was hard work as we only had two hours but it was a laugh. It was also Talent Show Day. Time to perform in front of the guests. There was two showings, I wasn’t nervous, I was excited just wanted everything to go well. It was great. The guests loved us. It was such a great experience and I do have a video of the dance which I’d like to edit with some other footage. Then that evening, there was a character meet and greet with them in their Mexican outfits which was nice :). Also cheese and wine event at Palos. I never drink wine but I did it! Now I can drink it at home too!
Friday 5th May; there was another crew event which was one of the bands playing for us called The Brass Band, I think they are English and they were amazing – definetly would see them again so I’ll keep an eye out when I’m home. Then we had a few people at the cabin chilling out before going to bed. Another good night.
Saturday 6th May; during the day, they were doing ice cream at the crew coffee place for us crew which I managed to get too and then that evening in the bar, everyone goes to say goodbye to the people leaving for vacation so was another night out.
It was a busy 14 day cruise with lots of crew events but it was lovely but I am very tired now and hopefully before we get to Alaska, it will calm down a bit for me to regain some energy. I know I don’t have to go to every event but it’s nice to see everyone and relax and actually enjoy and of course to get to know new people and spend time with my friends.
A few Mexico and California cruises before we get to Alaska. Nice to see some new places and not be on sea days all the time.
Have any of you been on any outings? Done many fun things? I would love to know.
